Watan-With patience and determination unparalleled, as she lay on the hospital bed recovering, Ismail Haniyeh’s wife, the head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, received the news of the assassination of seven of her sons and grandchildren in a car bombing in the Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City on Wednesday, the “first day of Eid al-Fitr.”
On Wednesday afternoon (the first day of Eid al-Fitr), Israeli occupation aircraft assassinated 7 of Haniyeh’s sons and grandchildren, the martyrs: Hazem, Amir, Mohammed, and their children: Mona, Amal, Khaled, and Rizan.
It was striking how Ismail Haniyeh received the news of the assassination of his sons and grandchildren while visiting a number of war wounded in Gaza receiving treatment at a hospital in the Qatari capital, Doha.

A video clip captured Haniyeh receiving the news with patience and fortitude, saying at the moment he heard the news, “May God make it easy for them,” and he insisted on continuing his visit to the wounded after receiving the news of the martyrdom of his sons and grandchildren.
Haniyeh’s wife receives the news of the assassination of her sons while in the recovery ward. Abdul Salam Haniyeh, the eldest son of the head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, posted a picture of his mother at the moment she received the news of the martyrdom of her three sons in Gaza.
Abdul Salam Haniyeh, Abu Farah, said: “My beloved mother was lying in the hospital due to a health condition that afflicted her a few days before Eid, and she only learned of the martyrdom of her sons and grandchildren on this day.”
He added: “My father went to her and informed her of the news, so she thanked God, regained composure, performed ablution, prayed two units of gratitude to God, and these photos were taken at that moment. * Note that Um Abdul Salam had previously bid farewell to two grandchildren, as well as one of her brothers, his wife, grandchildren, and another nephew, in addition to the martyred members of her own family.”
Ismail Haniyeh: “My sons were not fighters in the Qassam Brigade”
The head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, said on Thursday that his sons who were killed in an Israeli attack were not fighters in the Qassam Brigades, and that the interest of the Palestinian people takes precedence over everything.

The Israeli army acknowledged the assassination of three of Haniyeh‘s sons in a strike targeting a car in the Gaza Strip, claiming they belonged to the Qassam Brigades and were on their way to carry out what it called “terrorist activity,” according to its claim.
Haniyeh added to Reuters regarding the impact of their martyrdom on the talks: “The interests of our Palestinian people come before anything else, and our sons and children are part of this people and part of this march.”
He said, “We are seeking an agreement, but until this moment, the Zionist enemy is procrastinating and evading responding to the demands to provide the required entitlement to reach an agreement,” referring to the ongoing talks at the present time to cease fire in Gaza and exchange prisoners.
