Unprecedented Iranian Strikes on Israel: US National Security Council Responds
US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby

Watan-John Kirby, the spokesperson for the US National Security Council, acknowledged during his televised statements the impact of the Iranian response and missile attacks on Israel, saying, “We have not seen this before.”

Kirby said in an interview with the American CNN network that Iran’s retaliatory strikes against Israel were truly unprecedented in terms of scale, scope, and range.

The American official added, “We have not seen this before. We have been closely monitoring this as much as possible. Can I tell you that we expected every drone and every missile? Probably not.”

*The US National Security Council spokesperson further conveyed in his discussion about the Iranian attack on Israel: “We certainly have a good idea of what Iran was planning to do.”

Kirby observed that the defense carried out by the Israeli occupation and its American and Western allies was also unprecedented, as he described it.

He continued, “It was a remarkable success that demonstrated Israeli military superiority. Equally important was the diplomatic superiority that Israel has friends in the region,” he claimed.

Violation of Arab countries’ airspace

The American official added, “It appears that the Iranians did not only attack Israel but were also violating the airspace of other Arab countries, including Jordan and Saudi Arabia.”

The US National Security Council coordinator, John Kirby, concluded, “Absolutely. There is no way to do what they did last night without violating international airspace to do so.”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard had announced launching drone and cruise missile attacks against targets of the Israeli occupation in response to the targeting of the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The damage caused by those attacks was primarily material and economic due to the activation of Israeli air defense systems to prevent greater damage.

However, Israeli media sources acknowledged that some medical teams in Israel were summoned to treat a total of 31 individuals who sustained minor injuries while heading to shelters.

According to the sources, some of the injured suffered panic attacks during the Iranian attacks.
