Decoding Destruction: Satellite Insights into Israeli Base After Iranian Strike
Analyzing Satellite Images of Israeli Base Damaged in Iranian Attack

Watan-Intention to refute rumors with recent satellite images captured by “Sentinel Hub” on April 14th, regarding the alleged damage to the Israeli “Nevatim” base from the Iranian attack targeting Israel on Saturday.

These images revealed the potential extent of the damage to the base by comparing them with older satellite images, as well as with videos released by the occupation and statements from officials.

By comparing the recent images of the base with others taken on April 4th, the “IKAD” team noticed a white color difference on the southern runway of the base.

The Iranian army had announced that its attack with drones and missiles on Israel came “in response to the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus and achieved all its objectives.”

Tehran had previously threatened a harsh response to the airstrike targeting its consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus, two weeks ago, which resulted in the deaths of 13 people, including seven members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and six Syrian citizens.

Locating the Strike Site

The occupation army published a video on April 14th showing damage to the base’s runway, stating that the damage was minor and that the airbase continued its operations as usual.

By matching visible elements in the footage, such as the two hangars flanked by a column in front of the base’s runway, with images captured by Sentinel Hub, the strike site was identified.

An American official told ABC that 5 ballistic missiles hit the Nevatim airbase, destroying a C-130 transport plane, an unused runway, and empty storage facilities.

Based on the damages mentioned by the American official, the “IKAD” team attempted to locate them through Sentinel Hub images and managed to identify two locations suspected to be the damaged storage facilities.

The first location was a building situated on the northern runway of the base, believed to have been damaged due to the attack, but the image resolution does not help confirm the damages and their extent.

The other location appears to be a storage facility located east of the southern runway of the base.
