Gaza Marks 20th Anniversary of Hamas Founder’s Assassination with Resilience and Resistance

Watan-A Qassam Brigades fighter sent a message on the twentieth anniversary of the assassination of Hamas founder Dr. Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi. The fighter, along with others, appeared to be targeting enemy gatherings in the “Netzarim Axis” south of Gaza City.

Al-Rantisi was martyred in April 2004 by an Israeli Apache helicopter strike. He had expressed a wish to die as a martyr rather than succumb to illness. He was martyred along with two of his companions, leaving Gaza to bid farewell to the founding jihadist leader in a grand wedding befitting his jihad at that time.

In a video released by the brigades on Thursday, the Qassam fighter, with his face camouflaged for security reasons, stated, “The resistance continues by the grace of God, and we continue to target the enemy’s positions and gatherings with mortar shells.”

While holding a heavy caliber shell, he continued, “We will not rest or relent until the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Allah willing.”

The fighter was seen loading the shell into the cannon, chanting “Allahu Akbar” before it was launched towards its target.

The loading of the cannon with successive shells was accompanied by revolutionary Hamas songs.

Detonation of Two Booby-Trapped Tunnels

The Qassam Brigades also announced the detonation of two booby-trapped tunnels targeting an Israeli force, causing casualties in the Maghazi area in central Gaza.

They also reported that their fighters shelled Israeli forces stationed in the Netzarim Axis with heavy mortar shells.

Earlier, the Qassam Brigades published footage of sniping an Israeli soldier east of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.

This comes as the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that Israeli occupation forces committed six massacres against families, resulting in 56 martyrs and 89 wounded who were transferred to hospitals in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry, in its daily statistical report on martyrs and injuries yesterday, stated that the number of casualties from the Israeli aggression has risen since October 7th to 33,899 martyrs and 76,664 wounded.

It also noted that there are still many victims under the rubble and on the roads where ambulance and civil defense teams cannot reach them.
