Watan-Local sources and Palestinian media reported that the Israeli occupation army assassinated the commander of the Tulkarm Battalion in Saraya al-Quds, Muhammad Jaber, also known as “Abu Shuja’a,” along with a number of other resistance fighters during a wide military operation in the Nur Shams refugee camp east of the city of Tulkarm.
The official Palestinian news agency quoted local sources inside the camp as saying that Israeli special forces raided a house in the clinic neighborhood of the camp and liquidated four young men who were taking refuge inside.
“Abu Shuja’a” is considered one of the founders of the Tulkarm Battalion and has survived several assassination attempts, while his brother “Mahmoud” was martyred during an aggression launched by the occupation army on the Nur Shams camp last December.
On Thursday evening, a large Israeli army force began a wide-scale invasion of the Nur Shams camp, imposing a strict siege on it and deploying military reinforcements for the ongoing operation in the camp.
The resistance fighters engaged in fierce clashes with the invading forces in the camp and detonated several explosive devices.

The Israeli occupation army admitted that four soldiers, including one officer, were injured during the clashes with the resistance fighters in the Nur Shams camp, stating that two of the injured soldiers were in serious condition.
Earlier on Friday, the young man Salim Faisal Ghunaim (30 years old) was martyred, and his body is still lying inside one of the camp’s houses, knowing that he is the brother of the martyrs Amer and Ahmed Ghunaim who were martyred during the wide-scale aggression by the occupation on the camp on the nineteenth of October 2023.
A touching video circulated on social media showing the mother of the martyr Ghunaim bidding him farewell.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that one of its teams was injured by a gunshot wound to the foot, namely the volunteer paramedic Hamza al-Jitawi, while working at an ambulance point inside the camp, and another young man was also injured in the foot.

They added that reports are coming in to the Red Crescent from inside the camp, including a medical case of an elderly person who passed away this morning due to the delay in his arrival at the hospital, as he is still inside the camp until now.
The Nur Shams camp east of Tulkarm is subjected to Israeli military operations from time to time, during which the occupation army deliberately destroys infrastructure in an attempt to strike at the popular incubator of resistance, as the locals say.
