Watan-The Sudan called on the UN Security Council to officially condemn the UAE and urge it to halt the supply of equipment, weapons, and funding to the “Rapid Support Forces” led by Hemeti. It also renewed its criticism and rejection of the Paris conference held without the participation of the official government.
On Friday, the UN Security Council held a special session on the situation in Sudan, during which the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the African Union presented reports on the situation in Sudan. This was followed by discussions among council members and remarks from Sudan’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Harith Idriss.
Sudanese Representative Exposes the UAE in the Security Council
Idriss, in his address to the council, said, “Condemning the UAE outright in the council constitutes the correct beginning to stopping the war, with the demand for it to stop supplying militias with military equipment, armored vehicles, funding fighters, and providing jamming tools and advanced missiles like the Javelin 148.”
Sudan’s permanent representative to the United Nations called for a resolution from the Security Council urging Abu Dhabi to cease supplying the Rapid Support Forces with weapons, fueling the war, stirring up turmoil, and displacing the Sudanese people.

Idriss pointed out that the preparations for the Rapid Support Forces’ war would not have occurred if the UAE, the regional sponsor of the armed aggression plan, had not continued to provide military and logistical support to the Rapid Support Forces and their allied militias, alongside political, media, and propaganda backing.
Last March 29, Sudan filed an official complaint with the Security Council against the UAE, accusing it of planning to ignite the war and supporting the Rapid Support Forces with assistance from Chad.
The Sudanese official revealed that the Rapid Support Forces had acquired Javelin 148 FGM missiles and used them against army leadership targets in the capital, Khartoum. Authorities also found advanced missiles in militia-affiliated sites.
Iranian Courtship
He added, “It seems that the regional sponsors of the war, through these weapons, intended to tilt the balance in favor of the militias in the conflict they insist on continuing, as they clandestinely seek to ban the arming of the Sudanese army and secretly meet with Rapid Support Forces militia activists.”
Idriss reiterated that Iran plays no role in the war and that restoring diplomatic relations with it poses no threat to Israel’s security.
Idriss responded to the Paris conference held earlier this month without government participation, stating that its convening in that manner “aimed to isolate Sudan.” He noted that the conference impedes reaching a swift solution to the war in Sudan, as war-waging countries participated in it.
