Watan-Turkish media revealed the identity of the Turkish youth who carried out a stabbing operation on Tuesday against occupation soldiers in Jerusalem. It turned out that he was a young man named “Hasan Sakalan” born in 1990 and works as an imam in a mosque in Turkey.

Hasan Sakalan was martyred in Jerusalem by the fire of occupation soldiers after he stabbed one of them in the hand, according to a scene captured by surveillance cameras and broadcasted by Israeli media.

Who is “Hasan Sakalan,” the perpetrator of the stabbing operation in Jerusalem?

After announcing the martyrdom of the Turkish citizen Hasan, who arrived in Israel as part of a Turkish delegation – and it seems that he had planned this operation before his arrival – Turkish and Arab social media platforms buzzed with his name, amid great praise for the martyr and his heroism, considering his martyrdom as a sacrifice for Gaza.

Turkish media published a picture of the hero, the perpetrator of the stabbing operation in Jerusalem, martyr Hasan Sakalan, and clarified that he entered Jerusalem as a Turkish tourist at the age of 34 and is a father of two.

Many activists considered in their comments under the hashtag of the Turkish martyr Hasan Sakalan that this operation, carried out by a non-Palestinian person who came from another country, will change a lot and will have its repercussions.

Entered from Jordan

It is worth mentioning that the Turkish tourist entered the occupied territories through Jordan, and stabbed an Israeli policeman in Jerusalem before Israeli forces opened fire on him and he was martyred instantly.

“Hasan Sakalan” worked as an imam in the province of Şanlıurfa, southeastern Turkey, and headed to Jerusalem as part of a Turkish tourist group a few days ago.

The Turkish martyr hero

Israeli authorities stated that they raided the hotel where Hasan Sakalan was staying, who had separated from the Turkish tourist group he traveled with to Jerusalem due to illness.

The name Hasan Sakalan quickly topped social media platforms in Turkey and the Arab world under the hashtag “Turkish martyr hero.”

On the other hand, the Turkish “Huda Par” party offered condolences to the Sakalan family and the Turkish people, while no official comment has been issued by Turkey so far regarding the operation.
