Watan-Iran has revealed the types of missiles and drones it used in the recent attack on Israel, which was launched in response to an Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps advisor Brigadier General Ali Balali stated that Tehran used “Ghadr,” “Emad,” and “Khyber” missiles in its recent attack on Israel, in addition to a Shahed-136 drone.
In an interview with CNN, Balali added that the shells’ accuracy is less than 5 meters, and the range of “Ghadr” and “Emad” missiles reaches over 1600 kilometers. They are also capable of carrying warheads weighing between 450 and 500 kilograms.
As for the “Khyber” missile, Balali stated that its capability to carry warheads reaches approximately 320 kilograms.
In a related context, CNN reported that the United States considers Iran’s missile arsenal to be the largest in the Middle East. Tehran, on the other hand, asserts that its missile program is purely defensive.
Unannounced Achievements
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps advisor stated, “There are achievements that have not been announced yet. We are independent in terms of preserving our defenses. We have made good progress in this field and will continue to develop it.”
According to General Balali, his country used a Shahed-136 drone in the recent attack on Israel.
On April 13th, Iran launched drones and missiles towards Israel.
Iran stated that the attack was in response to “numerous crimes, including the attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus and the killing of Iranian military personnel.”
Iranian media reported that the attacks on Israel targeted military installations, while the Israeli army confirmed intercepting 99% of Iranian shells, noting minor damage to the Nevatim Airbase.
