Mystery Unleashed: Decoding the Enigmatic ‘Gaza Dogs’ That Intrigued Israeli Media
Watan-The Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” revealed a new strange phenomenon occurring in the Gaza Strip, involving the tying of dogs in residential areas to disturb the dogs relied upon by the Israeli military unit “Oketz.”
The newspaper reported that residents of the Sheikh Zayed, Al-Daraj, and Al-Tuffah (north) neighborhoods leave large dogs tied with ropes and long chains inside homes and building yards to disturb the dogs relied upon by the Israeli military unit “Oketz.”
The mentioned Israeli military unit relies on these dogs in many of its operations to conduct preliminary searches to ensure the absence of explosive devices or armed individuals setting ambushes for soldiers, according to the Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth.”
The phenomenon of dogs in Gaza
The newspaper stated that these dogs may hinder the work of the “Oketz” unit, which is skilled in ignoring gunfire and other animals when attacked.

“Yedioth Ahronoth” pointed out that the phenomenon of dogs could be a step towards luring Israeli soldiers into an ambush. However, there is no intelligence indication regarding the organized military use of Gaza dogs against the occupying forces. This issue appeared as a possible measure in the briefings received by the forces before their recent operations.
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, “Since the beginning of the ground operations (on October 27, 2023), Israeli soldiers have removed dozens of dogs from the Strip and transferred them to dog houses in Israel for adoption.”

The dogs are better than the Arab Zionists
The phenomenon of dogs in Gaza sparked reactions and tweets on social media platforms, including a tweet by Egyptian journalist and prominent TV host on Al Jazeera, Ahmed Mansour.
Mansour said in his tweet: “Dogs in Gaza defend the honor of the nation that Arab Zionists have neglected.”
The Egyptian journalist explained: “A new phenomenon facing the occupying forces in the Gaza Strip, where large dogs disable the activities of trained dogs belonging to the Israeli occupation army, forcing them to withdraw. The occupation army has lost 17 dogs from the dog battalion so far.”

Mansour commented on this: “These are soldiers God has created to support His oppressed servants,” adding: “What our people in Gaza are facing is crimes and genocide by a barbaric occupying entity beyond imagination, amid silence and complicity from the Arab rulers… But God Almighty will not abandon them, and victory is coming, God willing.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Hafez Abdullah Azzam wrote: “Even the dogs of Gaza frightened their soldiers and their dogs… It’s Gaza, gentlemen, everything in it is different.”

Political researcher Nazir Al-Kindouri preferred these dogs over Arab Zionists and their shameful stance, saying: “Even the dogs of Gaza participated in the battle against the Zionist occupier. But some ‘Arab Zionist dogs’ still flatter the Zionist occupier and find excuses for him while he commits massacres in Gaza.”
He continued: “They even support him with various types of support, O Zionist flatterers, have you not reached the level of Gaza dogs?”
