Watan-Israeli media reported that the Israeli army faced four “serious” security incidents on Monday in the Tel al-Hawa area, south of Gaza City.
According to Al Jazeera’s correspondent, Israeli military helicopters briefly landed on the Netzarim axis, likely to evacuate the wounded. Israeli media also reported that three soldiers injured in Gaza battles were recently transported.
Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), claimed responsibility for detonating an anti-personnel explosive device on a group of six Israeli soldiers in Tel al-Hawa, resulting in casualties.
Earlier, Al-Qassam Brigades announced targeting an Israeli infantry unit in the chalets area west of Tel al-Hawa in Gaza, causing further casualties. They also reported destroying a military jeep with a Yasin 105 rocket on Al-Sina’a Street in the same area.
The brigades stated they targeted an Israeli troop carrier with a Shawaz 3 explosive at the 17th roundabout in the same neighborhood, and a D9 bulldozer with a Shawaz 3 explosive on Al-Rashid Street.
Additionally, Al-Qassam Brigades reported targeting Israeli forces stationed on the Netzarim axis in the central sector with several 114mm Rogum rockets.
Lethal Operations
Commenting on the Tel al-Hawa operations, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper stated that “the Israeli army attacked northern Gaza forcefully to compel Hamas to yield and make more concessions during negotiations.”
The newspaper added that “Hamas responded with lethal operations in Tel al-Hawa.”
Tel al-Hawa Battalion, the first battalion in the Gaza Strip that the Israeli occupation army claimed to have dismantled and eliminated, managed to carry out significant operations against the occupation forces despite the neighborhood being invaded more than five times.
