Watan-The controversy continues in the United States after mysterious swarms of drones appeared over the American East Coast, raising widespread fears of an outbreak of unconventional hybrid warfare. Reports indicated that around 100 drones out of 5,000 were spotted in the area, with no official confirmation on whether they were foreign reconnaissance aircraft.
Despite attempts at reassurance, American newspapers, particularly The New York Times, highlighted drones observed over military bases in England and Germany, where US forces are stationed, stressing that the issue demands thorough investigations.
American analysts speculated that some of these drones might have been on surveillance missions supported by governmental entities, while others suggested their presence could be part of a hybrid attack against the West, employing advanced military, electronic, and psychological tactics.
Intelligence reports suggest that the United States and Europe face a growing challenge amidst increasing boldness from countries like Russia and Iran, which are conducting hybrid attacks targeting critical infrastructure. These attacks include hacking sensitive computer systems, assassinations, and cyberattacks aimed at destabilization.
Although hybrid attacks are not new, their frequency has escalated in recent years. In July, Europe experienced one of the most violent attacks when a series of suspicious parcel explosions caused significant damage. US officials speculated that the parcels were a test by Russian military intelligence to plant explosives on cargo planes bound for the United States and Canada.
This escalation heightens fears of a new phase in international conflict, where wars are no longer confined to traditional military confrontations but include complex tactics targeting national security from within. The West appears increasingly compelled to develop more advanced strategies to counter these unconventional threats.
