Sisi’s Role in the Gaza Siege : A Political Partnership with the Israeli Occupation

Examining Egypt's actions in the blockade of Gaza and the political motivations behind them, while the Palestinian resistance persists.

Watan-Sisi is a partner of the occupation in besieging Gaza, as he supported the Israeli occupation during the aggression on the Gaza Strip in both direct and indirect ways, while claiming to support the Palestinian cause.

Public and secretive movements have revealed his central role in tightening the siege on Gaza to strike the resistance and achieve political gains. Media reports have discussed secret talks with Israel aimed at reinforcing the siege on the strip, including proposals to disarm Gaza, dismantle Hamas, and even settle Palestinian refugees in Sinai.

The Rafah crossing, the only lifeline for Gaza, has become, under Sisi’s rule, a closed gate, with strict restrictions on passage and exorbitant fees reaching up to $10,000 for anyone wishing to leave the strip. In addition, humanitarian and medical aid has been blocked under security pretexts aimed at strangling the population and weakening their steadfastness.

Military cooperation between Sisi and Israel was evident in logistical facilitation through Egyptian ports to transfer military aid to the occupation during its aggression on Gaza. These policies reflected the extent of complicity in besieging the Palestinian people and directly supported the Israeli aggression, raising serious questions about the official Egyptian stance on the Palestinian cause.

Despite all these actions, Gaza’s steadfastness thwarted the plans targeting it. The Palestinian resistance succeeded in imposing its terms on the occupation in a ceasefire agreement, marking a significant victory for the Palestinian people and a clear defeat for all the conspirators.

In a previous television interview, an official from Sisi’s regime openly admitted that Egypt intentionally besieges the Gaza Strip as part of its international obligations. These statements clarified that these policies are not merely security measures, but political decisions aimed at the Palestinians and their resistance, within understandings with international parties aimed at ensuring Israel’s security.

The official’s statements revealed the true nature of Sisi’s role in the suffering of the Palestinians, confirming his partnership in the siege of Gaza. However, Gaza, despite all this, has once again proven that it is resistant to the occupation and anyone who seeks to liquidate its cause.
