Israeli Forces Escalate Military Operations in Jenin: 25 Palestinians Arrested Amidst Field Executions

Palestinian Authorities Condemn Retaliatory Arrests and Collective Punishment as Israeli Military Expands Operations Across the West Bank.

Watan-The Palestinian Prisoner Society stated that Israeli occupation forces are carrying out field executions in Jenin and its refugee camp, noting the arrest of 25 Palestinians last night and early Thursday morning in the West Bank.

It explained that the arrest campaigns and field interrogations are retaliatory and a form of collective punishment against Palestinians to undermine the resistance, according to its statement.

In a joint statement released today, Thursday, by the Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs (a governmental body) and the Palestinian Prisoner Society (a non-governmental organization), it was reported that the detainees include “a woman and former prisoners.”

The statement highlighted that the Israeli army “launched a wide-scale arrest campaign targeting dozens in the city of Jenin and its refugee camp as part of an ongoing military operation since Tuesday, accompanied by infrastructure destruction, abuse, vandalism, and field executions.”

The statement further clarified that “the arrests were distributed across the governorates of Hebron (south), Nablus and Tulkarm (north), and Ramallah and Jerusalem (center).”

The arrests coincide with a military operation initiated by the Israeli army on Tuesday in the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, resulting in the martyrdom of 12 Palestinians and the injury of 40 others, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health as of midday Thursday.

In parallel with the onslaught in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army has expanded its operations while settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. This has resulted in the martyrdom of 873 Palestinians, the injury of around 6,700, and the detention of 14,300 others, according to official Palestinian data.
