UAE-Israel Coordination: Post-War Plans for Gaza’s Administration

Secret talks and proposals to manage Gaza's reconstruction and governance after the Israeli war, with UAE taking a leading role in collaboration with Israel and the US.

Watan-Hebrew media outlets have revealed details of a conspiracy by the UAE, coordinated with Israel, to suppress Palestinian resistance in Gaza following the war. This would involve imposing arrangements for managing the Strip if the ceasefire holds and the Israeli war ends.

The information published by the newspaper Israel Hayom indicates that Abu Dhabi has agreed in principle to take responsibility for managing Gaza after the war. Abu Dhabi aims to rebuild the area in a way that neutralizes any potential threat to Israel.

The newspaper reported that the UAE is “prepared to suppress jihad and the use of Islam for violence in Gaza,” implying that Abu Dhabi would work in favor of the Israeli occupation to suppress Palestinian resistance in the Strip.

Meanwhile, the Hebrew channel i24NEWS published what it said were the main points of the Gaza management plan for the day after the war, as developed during talks between Israel and the UAE. The plan includes:

  1. Forming a transitional council for Gaza by decree from the Palestinian Authority President.
  2. Limiting the council to no more than 20 members.
  3. Tasking the council with managing daily life in Gaza and overseeing reconstruction plans.
  4. Preparing for presidential and legislative elections.
  5. Holding elections in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority areas simultaneously within 24 to 36 months.
  6. Inviting a temporary Arab security force and cooperating with it.
  7. Collaborating with neighboring countries and international partners.
  8. Including representatives from Palestinian Authority territories as part of the broader plan for the Authority.
  9. Establishing a joint legislative and governance body with the Ramallah government for the reconstruction of Gaza.
  10. Forming a professional Palestinian security force.
  11. Holding a donors’ conference for Gaza’s reconstruction.
  12. Ensuring freedom of movement for people and goods to and from Gaza.

Yesterday, i24NEWS reported that Israel and the United States are holding secret talks with the UAE to involve it in managing Gaza “the day after.” The goal of the plan is to establish a temporary government in the Strip so that a “reformed” Palestinian Authority can govern instead of the transitional council.

Among the other proposed options, the UAE and the United States would temporarily oversee Gaza’s management, security, and reconstruction after the Israeli military withdraws.

This comes as Aryeh Deri, the leader of Israel’s Shas Party, who is close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the UAE at the invitation of Mohammed bin Zayed to discuss the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

According to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, this marks the first public visit by the leader of the Shas Party to the UAE.

The Authority stated that the visit addressed the next phases of the ceasefire agreement and efforts to strengthen cooperation between Israel and the UAE within the framework of the Abraham Accords and their ongoing alliance.
