Al-Qassam Brigades Release New Footage of Operations Against Israeli Forces in Beit Hanoun
Documenting a week of ambushes, mine detonations, and sniper operations, Al-Qassam highlights the resistance during Israel’s recent incursion into northern Gaza.
Watan-The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcast new footage on Sunday showing its fighters repelling Israeli occupation soldiers and military vehicles during the recent incursion into Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam stated that this footage is the second part of the series titled “Death Traps in Beit Hanoun: Witness and Evidence”, documenting operations that took place between January 8 and January 15, 2025.
The footage documented the detonation of a pre-planted minefield targeting Israeli soldiers and vehicles on January 8, as well as the destruction of a “Merkava” tank belonging to a company commander with a powerful explosive device. The blast separated the tank’s turret and killed those inside.
The footage also included long attempts to retrieve the bodies of the dead and transport them using various vehicles.
According to Al-Qassam’s footage, an anti-personnel explosive device was detonated against an Israeli force on January 11, killing four soldiers, including the deputy commander of the “Nahal” Brigade.
Additionally, the clips showed the targeting of an Israeli force that had taken shelter in a house with a TBG rocket on January 14, and the targeting of a “military bulldozer” with an anti-tank missile the following day.
The footage also included sniper operations targeting several Israeli soldiers and scenes of two Israeli soldiers being struck by an anti-personnel explosive.
Al-Qassam also documented an operation on January 2, showing the targeting of a house where an Israeli infantry force had taken cover with an anti-fortification rocket. This caused the house to collapse, killing five soldiers and severely injuring eight others, according to the Israeli army’s announcement.
On the previous Friday, Al-Qassam had published the first part of the same series, detailing operations conducted between December 29, 2024, and January 7, 2025.
In mid-January, Israeli media sources reported that all crew members of an elite “Nahal” Brigade unit were killed in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel’s privately-owned Channel 7 reported that 15 Israeli soldiers were killed in Beit
within a week.
As a result, the announced death toll of the Israeli military has risen to over 840 officers and soldiers since October 7, 2023, including 405 killed since the start of the ground invasion of Gaza on October 27 of the same year.
Last Sunday, a ceasefire in Gaza came into effect. The first phase is set to last 42 days, during which negotiations will take place for a second and third phase, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.
