The danger of training AI to lie Musk expressed concern about training many AI systems to provide dishonest or biased answers. He referred to a controversial incident during the launch of Google’s Gemini system, where the AI showed a strange response: “When people asked which was worse, the abuse of Caitlyn Jenner’s gender or a global thermonuclear war, the system answered that the abuse was worse. This is deeply concerning.”
Musk continued his warning: “If this intelligence becomes too powerful and is not properly trained, it may make catastrophic decisions. For example, it might think that eradicating humanity is the only way to eliminate gender discrimination!”
