UAE-Israel Collaboration: A Controversial Plan to Reshape Gaza’s Future

Secret UAE-backed initiative with Israel aims to rebuild Gaza while sidelining Hamas and neutralizing resistance, sparking criticism over its impact on Palestinian rights.

Watan-Hebrew media reports have revealed details of a conspiracy led by the UAE in collaboration with the Israeli occupation to change the situation in the Gaza Strip after the war.

According to the newspaper Israel Hayom, an initial agreement was reached on a UAE plan that includes political and security arrangements aimed at rebuilding the Gaza Strip in a way that “neutralizes any threat to Israel.” The secret discussions reportedly involved Israeli and American officials and included proposals to form a transitional council to manage Gaza’s affairs through a decree issued by the Palestinian Authority president.

The proposed plan involves the formation of a transitional council to oversee civil life in Gaza and supervise reconstruction efforts. It also includes preparations for holding presidential and legislative elections within a period not exceeding 36 months. To ensure the implementation of these arrangements, the plan suggests establishing an Arab security force, which is expected to play a key role in monitoring the situation on the ground and preventing any attempts to revive armed resistance.

According to the reports, the UAE has agreed in principle to provide financial support for rebuilding the Gaza Strip and organizing an international donor conference. However, it has stipulated the exclusion of Hamas and the resistance from any future arrangements, effectively removing any potential security threat to Israel. Additionally, the plan aims to enhance freedom of movement to and from Gaza, albeit under strict Israeli control.

The plans reflect a convergence of interests between Israel and Abu Dhabi on the necessity of weakening Hamas and limiting its influence, as the movement is seen as the biggest obstacle to achieving stability from an Israeli perspective. The UAE also seeks to improve its relations with the West by playing the role of mediator in reconstruction efforts, ignoring the impact of these arrangements on Palestinian rights.

While these arrangements might initially appear to be an initiative to rebuild Gaza, at their core, they are seen as an extension of Israeli efforts to neutralize resistance in the Strip and transform it into an area under direct Israeli control.

These moves coincide with the UAE leveraging its regional influence to strengthen its political presence by supporting the “Abraham Accords” agenda. Despite widespread criticism of the UAE’s role, the growing cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv signals bolder steps targeting the Palestinian cause and its armed resistance.
