Russians Returning from Israel as Dual Residency Trends Persist

Israeli Ambassador to Moscow Highlights Movement Between Russia and Israel Amid Growing Concerns Among Israelis Since the October 2023 War.

Watan-Israeli Ambassador to Moscow, Simona Halperin, stated that Russians who had recently moved to Israel are beginning to return to Russia.

In an interview with Russia’s TASS news agency, Halperin said, “Russians apply for citizenship; some come to Israel for a period of time, while others leave.”

The Israeli ambassador pointed out that there are Russian citizens “who still live between the two countries. We do not have statistics, but I know there are those who are returning to Russia, and this is understandable.”

Halperin concluded by saying, “Israel recognizes dual, triple, and even quadruple citizenship without any issues. So, this is not a problem.”

Russians who recently moved to Israel are now returning to Russia, according to Israel’s ambassador in Moscow.

According to the latest data published by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics at the beginning of the month, 82,700 people emigrated from Israel last year, while 23,800 Israelis returned from living abroad.

Opinion polls indicate a growing sense of insecurity and accumulating psychological pressures among Israelis since the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance on October 7, 2023.
