Trump to Revoke Visas of Pro-Palestinian Students and Crack Down on “Anti-Semitic Crimes”

The Executive Order Targets Foreign Students Supporting Hamas and Expands Measures Against Campus Activism

Watan-After U.S. President Donald Trump pledged during his election campaign to expel foreign students who participated in anti-Israel demonstrations during the war, he is set to sign an executive order on Wednesday to revoke visas for those he described as “Hamas supporters.”

According to Reuters, citing a White House source, in addition to canceling the visas of pro-Palestinian students in the U.S., Trump will push for legislation against what he called “anti-Semitic crimes.”

A report by The New York Times states that the new order will direct federal agencies to intensify efforts against “anti-Semitism” and find new ways to expel “activists against Jews” who violate the law.

A list outlining key provisions of the order indicates that Trump will instruct the Department of Justice to “strictly prosecute terrorist threats, arson, vandalism, and violence against American Jews.” Addressing foreign residents who joined pro-Palestinian protests, Trump warned: “We will find you and deport you. I will also revoke the visas of all Hamas sympathizers on university campuses, which have become infested with unprecedented extremism.”

Additionally, the order instructs the Department of Justice to investigate cases where protesters have painted pro-Hamas graffiti on university walls. White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stated that “Trump will sign additional orders related to the U.S. education system, including measures against institutions that teach content accusing the United States of systemic racism.”
