Watan-Former U.S. President Donald Trump has returned to the political scene with force, stirring up a storm with his bold decisions, which some describe as “insane” and unprecedented. Since taking office, he has pursued expansionist policies that threaten global stability, including the annexation of new territories, the imposition of harsh tariffs, and pressuring allies to pay massive sums in exchange for military protection.
One of Trump’s most controversial decisions is his plan to relocate the population of Gaza, as part of a broader strategy to redraw the map of the Middle East. But he hasn’t stopped there. The former president also aspires to annex the Gulf of Mexico to the United States, claiming it is “America’s rightful territory.”
Additionally, he ordered American ships to pass through the Panama Canal without paying any fees, sparking tensions with the Panamanian government, which initially resisted but eventually conceded.
In Europe, Trump has hinted at annexing Greenland, which belongs to Denmark, and has imposed heavy tariffs on Canadian exports after provocatively describing Canada as “the 51st U.S. state.” He also put Tokyo and Berlin in a difficult position by demanding they pay billions of dollars for the continued presence of U.S. military forces in Japan and Germany, angering both governments.
Trump has further escalated his stance against Western allies, demanding that European NATO member states increase their military spending and warning that Washington might withdraw from the alliance if his demands are not met. These statements have caused widespread concern in Europe, where many now realize that under Trump’s leadership, America may no longer be a reliable security partner.
In addition to his aggressive foreign policies, Trump withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, arguing that it “harms the American economy.” He also attacked international institutions, stating that Washington would no longer fund organizations that do not serve its direct interests.
However, according to analysts, none of these plans can be executed without massive funding. This has led Trump to demand $1 trillion from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in what appears to be another attempt to drain Gulf wealth—similar to his previous demands for Riyadh to pay exorbitant sums in exchange for “protection.”
It seems Trump has returned more impulsive than ever. But will he succeed in executing his plans, or will his opponents put an end to his recklessness?
