The Gazan woman was neither pampered nor preoccupied with fashion, shopping, resorts, or travel. Instead, she was the pillar of resilience, confronting war and siege with unbreakable hope. Despite everything, she refused to surrender throughout 15 months of a genocidal war that left nothing but ruin in its wake. She lost her children, her husband, her family, and her home, yet she remained standing, resisting, and dreaming of victory.
Women in Gaza endure the worst humanitarian conditions, moving between long lines just to obtain water and bread, with even the most basic necessities of life stripped away. One mother says, “During days of famine, I was in agony every time one of my children asked for food, and I had nothing to ease their hunger… Motherhood in war is a tragedy in every sense.”
The suffering of women is not limited to daily survival; it extends to deep psychological and physical pain.
