Watan-The trial sessions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resumed this Monday morning at the Central Court in Tel Aviv. He arrived late and stated that he was not feeling well, revealing details about the medical treatment he is receiving.
The previous sessions had been postponed for the past two weeks due to Netanyahu’s surgery to remove his prostate and his recovery from the procedure, as well as his visit to the United States.
Fortified Courtroom and Late Arrival
As the trial resumed for its eighth session, held in a fortified courtroom in Tel Aviv instead of Jerusalem for security reasons, Netanyahu arrived about 20 minutes late. He stated that he was not feeling well and had been delayed at the entrance. In another comment, he said, “I was about to cancel the appointment.”
He added, “I have returned from a historic visit, a visit that will change not only the face of the Middle East but also the country for generations. I came back feeling satisfied and energized by the challenges and achievements I have accomplished.”
Netanyahu further explained, “Medically, the event was extremely exhausting and full of challenges, as I am taking antibiotics continuously—1,500 milligrams daily—which adds some stress. Your Honor, I will need to take breaks from time to time because of these issues.”

Netanyahu was accompanied by his personal doctor in the last session and expressed regret over the court’s decision to hold three sessions this week, despite his request to postpone some of them.
He pointed out that “in a normal recovery process, a person needs rest, and that has not fully happened as doctors had expected, because I was required to deal with issues in the Knesset for long hours after the surgery, in addition to other responsibilities such as the release of prisoners and events in Lebanon. That necessary rest and recovery did not happen as it should have.”
It is worth noting that Netanyahu faces charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust in three separate cases known as Cases 1000, 2000, and 4000. The charges include receiving valuable gifts in exchange for regulatory benefits and diplomatic support for prominent businessmen, as well as manipulating media coverage in his favor. He first appeared in court on December 10, 2024.
