Nidham Al-Mahdawi Writes: Trump… The Bully Real Estate Tycoon
With threats to cut aid and force deportations, Trump pursues a dangerous strategy that could reshape the Middle East.
Watan-Trump persists in his arrogance, vanity, and madness. In reality, everything around him fuels his delusions of grandeur, as if he were a god overseeing the affairs of the entire world. He is the man who lost the election and came back, the one with a strong popular base, the one who blackmails presidents and nations—and they submit to his demands.
When Trump did not receive an immediate and satisfactory response to his deportation proposals—an act classified as a war crime—he decided to escalate. He has already observed the world’s reaction to the genocidal crimes committed under Biden, so what will the world do in the face of a lawless, immoral thug of a president who disregards international law?
Thus, Trump sees a clear path ahead:
- A new war of extermination
- Intensified siege
- Blocking food, water, and medicine
- Forcing Egypt and Jordan to open their borders
It is worth noting that Trump is a real estate mogul, not a fan of wars—but he excels at something even dirtier. He uses sanctions and bullying to achieve his goals. That is why he repeated today that he may cut aid to Jordan and Egypt, and he declared that “hell will break loose” if Hamas does not release the remaining captives by next Saturday.
Yet, all of Trump’s apparent strength fades when he realizes that losses outweigh gains. He calculates everything in terms of numbers, profit, and loss. He has already tested how governments and regimes bend to his will, orbiting around him and even paying for their own protection.
However, Trump has yet to face the challenge of a people’s will in a small, overcrowded enclave filled with Palestinian refugees.
He forgets that empires can collapse in what may seem like a minor battle—one that could be decisive. Just as Afghanistan broke the Soviet Union, this could be his breaking point.
