North Korea Condemns Trump’s Proposal to Relocate Palestinians from Gaza
Pyongyang slams Washington’s plan to control Gaza and accuses the U.S. of extortion and violations of sovereignty.
Watan-North Korea’s state media on Wednesday condemned U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to take control of the Gaza Strip and relocate Palestinians from it, describing it as “boastful and empty bluster” and accusing Washington of extortion.
A commentary published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) stated that the already slim hopes of Palestinians for security and peace were being shattered by the proposal, though it did not mention Trump directly.
“The world is now boiling like a pot of porridge because of the United States’ shocking announcement,” the agency said, referring to Trump’s startling declaration that the U.S. intends to remove Gaza’s residents and transform the war-torn strip into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”
The KCNA commentary also criticized the Trump administration for its calls to take control of the Panama Canal and Greenland, as well as its decision to rename the “Gulf of Mexico” to the “Gulf of America.”
“The United States must wake up from its outdated daydreams and immediately stop violating the dignity and sovereignty of other nations and peoples,” the agency’s report said, describing Washington as a “violent thief.”
During his first presidential term, Trump held unprecedented summits with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and praised their personal relationship.
The U.S. president recently stated that he would reach out to Kim again, while North Korea’s state media rarely comments on Trump’s potential second term and continues to denounce what it considers a serious security threat from Washington and its allies.
North Korea has openly criticized Israeli attacks on Gaza, accusing Israel of responsibility for the bloodshed and describing Washington as “complicit.”
