Tensions Rise as Qatar Warns Israel Over Gaza Agreement

Qatar's Discontent and Al-Qassam's Response Threaten the Future of the Gaza Deal

Watan-Tensions have escalated in Doha and Tel Aviv after the Israeli newspaper Haaretz revealed angry messages sent by Qatar to Israel, expressing deep dissatisfaction with the way Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has handled the Gaza agreement, particularly the second phase of the negotiations.

These messages came after a series of provocative statements by Netanyahu regarding the displacement of Palestinians and his obstruction of preparations for the next phase of the agreement, which even threatened the full implementation of the first phase.

Warning Messages from Qatar to Israel

According to an Israeli source quoted by Haaretz, Qatar sent repeated warnings to Tel Aviv, reminding it that the agreement involves not only Israel and Hamas, but also Doha as a key guarantor for its implementation. The Qatari messages emphasized that Israeli actions, particularly Netanyahu‘s statements, jeopardize the continued release of Israeli prisoners, thus endangering the entire agreement.

Netanyahu Under International Criticism

The angry messages from Qatar were not limited to Tel Aviv but also reached Washington, although it is unclear how the Trump administration, considered a main supporter of Netanyahu’s government, will respond. However, it is certain that international pressure is mounting on Israel due to its delays in fulfilling its obligations under the agreement, increasing the likelihood of its complete collapse.

Al-Qassam’s Response: A Major Blow to Tel Aviv

Coinciding with the revelation of the Qatari messages, Abu Obaida, the military spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, announced the postponement of the next batch of Israeli prisoners’ release until further notice, citing Israel’s repeated violations of the agreement. This step was a clear warning to Israel that the resistance will not continue to implement the agreement without mutual commitment.
