Israel Weighs Large-Scale Airstrikes on Iran’s Nuclear Facilities in 2025
American intelligence reports reveal that Israel is considering a major military strike on Iran’s nuclear sites, leveraging Tehran’s weakened position.
Watan-American intelligence reports have revealed that Israel is considering carrying out large-scale airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities this year, taking advantage of Tehran’s weakness.
According to an intelligence assessment prepared in the final days of former President Joe Biden’s administration, Israel fears that the window of opportunity to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon is narrowing. This concern may push Israel to pressure the current U.S. administration, led by President Donald Trump, to support potential strikes.
The report stated that Israel views the Trump administration as more willing to join any attack compared to the previous administration, especially since targeting Iran’s fortified underground nuclear sites would require U.S. military support and munitions supplies.
Although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office declined to comment, Israeli officials have repeatedly stated that Iran has become more vulnerable to military strikes.
In this context, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stated last November that “we have an opportunity to achieve our most important goal, which is to thwart and eliminate the existential threat facing Israel.”
For its part, Iran has previously threatened to respond to any attack on its nuclear facilities. However, the decline in its military capabilities and the losses suffered by its regional proxies may limit its ability to do so.
