Qatar and Egypt Reaffirm Unified Mediation Efforts in Gaza Amid Israeli Accusations
Doha and Cairo Emphasize Commitment to Ending Gaza War and Humanitarian Crisis, Dismissing Attempts to Undermine Their Role.

Watan-Qatar and Egypt confirmed in a joint statement on Wednesday that their mediation efforts regarding Gaza remain ongoing, consistent, and based on a shared vision to end the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the region. The statement clarified that these efforts aim to alleviate civilian suffering by creating conditions for a comprehensive ceasefire.
Both nations emphasized that “attempts to sow division among brothers—through doubt, distortion, or media escalation—will not succeed and will not deter them from continuing their joint efforts to end this war and its resulting humanitarian catastrophe.”
They also reaffirmed that they would not be drawn into internal dynamics or side agendas that do not serve the interests of the Palestinian people, renewing their full commitment to a clear framework focused on reducing suffering and securing a permanent truce.
The statement added that both countries are closely coordinating with the United States to reach an agreement that would end the humanitarian tragedy and ensure civilian protection.
Th spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majed Al-Ansari, stated on Tuesday that mediation efforts to secure a Gaza ceasefire between Hamas and Israel “are ongoing despite the difficult circumstances.” Responding to Israeli accusations against Qatar, he said Israel’s internal political polarization is the reason for such claims, asserting that Qatar is a globally recognized impartial mediator.
Al-Ansari explained that while the Israeli president, Isaac Herzog, made positive remarks about Qatar‘s mediation efforts and past agreements, these statements contradict the behavior of other Israeli institutions—particularly the Foreign Ministry, which continues to distort Qatar’s role. He said this contradiction reflects the deep political divisions within Israel and is the driving force behind the conflicting narratives.
Al-Ansari concluded, “Our mediation with all parties has not stopped since day one and continues despite these accusations. We fully understand who is obstructing a deal, and there have been multiple opportunities to end the war and reach a permanent ceasefire.”
