Israel Issues Evacuation Warning for Key Red Sea Ports in Yemen Under Houthi Control
Israeli military threatens strikes on Ras Issa, Hodeidah, and Al-Salif ports, accusing Houthis of using them for "terrorist activities"
Watan-On Monday evening, the Israeli military issued a formal warning to all individuals present at the Red Sea ports of Ras Issa, Hodeidah, and Al-Salif in western Yemen, demanding immediate evacuation amid threats of possible military action.
Via a post on X (formerly Twitter), Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee addressed what he described as a “warning to everyone present” at the three ports, all of which are currently under the control of Houthi forces.
“You must evacuate these ports and stay away from them for your own safety, until further notice,” the statement read.

Adraee claimed that the Houthi movement is using the ports to conduct what he labeled as “terrorist activities,” without providing further evidence or details.
This warning marks a potential escalation in Israel’s regional military posture, particularly in the context of ongoing maritime tensions in the Red Sea. The Houthis have previously targeted Israeli-linked ships and declared solidarity with Gaza during the war that began in October 2023.
