Hamas: Negotiations Focus on Ending the War, Withdrawal, and Gaza Reconstruction

Hamas highlights talks with Egyptian, Qatari mediators, and Trump's envoy, focusing on ending the war, Israeli withdrawal, and reconstruction efforts for Gaza.

Watan-On Monday, the Palestinian resistance movement “Hamas” stated that the negotiations held in Doha with Egyptian, Qatari mediators, and U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoy focused on ending the genocide, Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and the reconstruction process.

Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif Al-Qanoua added in a statement: “We have dealt flexibly with the efforts of the mediators and Trump’s envoy, and we await the results of the expected negotiations and the commitment of the occupation to the agreement and moving to the second phase.”

He continued: “The negotiations with the Egyptian, Qatari mediators, and Trump’s envoy are centered on ending the war, the withdrawal, and the reconstruction.”

Hamas Prioritizes Aid, Ceasefire Amid Israeli Blockade

He explained that his movement has fully committed to “the first phase of the agreement,” noting that their current priorities focus on housing and aiding Gaza’s Palestinians and ensuring a permanent ceasefire.

He emphasized that Israeli measures, such as tightening the blockade on Gaza, closing crossings, and preventing aid from reaching Palestinians, aim to “push them to migrate,” adding, “These are pipe dreams.”

He also stated that the Israeli talk of military plans to resume fighting in Gaza and the decision to cut electricity, which has already been cut since October 7, 2023, are “failed options and pose a threat to their prisoners, who will only be freed through negotiations.”
