Microsoft Integrates DeepSeek’s R1 AI Model into Azure AI Foundry
Despite Legal Disputes, Microsoft's Cloud Platform Now Offers Chinese AI Model.

Watan-Despite being the primary investor and supporter of the American artificial intelligence (AI) technology company OpenAI, the American software empire Microsoft accuses the Chinese AI company “DeepSeek” of illegally using its proprietary technologies. Nevertheless, the American empire offers DeepSeek’s AI language model “R. One” on its cloud computing platform.
Microsoft announced that the “R. One” language model, classified under AI inference models, is available on the Azure AI Foundry computing service, which consolidates various AI services for companies and institutions under one umbrella. In an online post, Microsoft stated that the R. One model available on Azure AI Foundry “has undergone rigorous auditing by safety and security assessment experts, including automated evaluations of model behavior and extensive security reviews to mitigate any potential risks.”
Microsoft added that customers will be able to use “distilled flavors” of R. One on their devices through Microsoft’s Co-Pilot Plus AI platform, which operates on personal computers that meet specific requirements for AI usage.
The Microsoft post continued: “As we continue to expand the portfolio of AI models on the Azure AI Foundry service, we are excited to see how developers and institutions benefit. The R. One models address real-world challenges and provide transformative experiences.”
Adding R. One to Microsoft’s cloud services is peculiar, considering that the American company has initiated an investigation into DeepSeek‘s potential misuse of its and OpenAI’s services.
