Watan-Amid the escalating Israeli attacks on the West Bank, attention is turning toward the dangerous role played by Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces in facilitating Israeli military operations inside Jenin refugee camp, which has been suffering under continuous assault for over three months.
This unofficial coordination between the PA and the Israeli occupation reveals a grim reality for the camp’s residents, who are subjected to displacement, home demolitions, and arrests—not only by Israeli forces but also with the assistance of Palestinian security elements who are supposedly meant to protect them.
According to credible field reports, Israeli occupation forces have issued demolition notices for dozens of homes in the areas of Tibbat al-Ghabz and al-Jabariyat, as well as in the neighborhoods of al-Hawashin and al-Olub.

PA Cooperation Deepens Jenin’s Suffering
This has coincided with logistical cooperation from PA security personnel, including the forced evacuation of residents from their homes, enabling Israel to carry out plans to destroy entire residential zones and carve new roads deep into the camp—an effort aimed at imposing a new security reality and tightening the occupation’s control over the heart of Jenin.
Meanwhile, Israeli tanks and bulldozers continue to destroy what remains of the camp’s infrastructure, while PA security forces pursue resistance fighters and arrest youth who participated in repelling repeated invasions. This coordination has led to dozens of martyrs and injuries, and the displacement of more than 21,000 Palestinians, including 2,000 students deprived of education due to school closures and their conversion into shelters.
In response, the Hamas movement issued a statement calling for an escalation of resistance, asserting that what’s happening in Jenin is part of Israel’s broader plan to enforce mass displacement in the West Bank, in parallel with its ongoing genocidal war on Gaza. The statement said the current security cooperation raises serious questions about the role of the PA, which appears to be a silent partner in implementing the occupation’s agenda.
This painful reality raises major questions about the future of the West Bank: Is the Palestinian Authority fulfilling its true national role, or has it become an instrument of the occupation, enforcing repression in the name of “security” and emptying resistance strongholds in preparation for a new phase of Israeli domination?
