Watan-Israeli media reported that at least one person was killed and another injured in a ramming and shooting attack near Yokneam, southeast of Haifa, and that the attacker was killed. The operation comes as the Israeli occupation army resumes its war on Gaza and escalates its aggression against towns and villages in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement, the Israeli police said that “according to the initial report only,” the assailant “arrived at the scene by car, ran over a number of civilians who were at the bus stop, and then opened fire at the civilians. As a result, there are a number of injuries at the scene, and the police forces present there neutralized the attacker. The Northern District Police are working to isolate the area.”
In an earlier statement, the police said they had “recently received a report suspecting a hostile attack near the HaTishbi junction,” located southeast of Haifa near Yokneam. The police explained that a person described as a “terrorist” had “opened fire at civilians and was immediately neutralized by police forces at the scene,” before Israeli media confirmed the death of one of the two injured individuals.
