Watan-A video from the meeting between US President Joe Biden and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Friday sparked controversy amid accusations against the president of attempting to harass his guest.
The “China in Arabic” account on the X platform published the video, accompanied by a comment: “Biden forgot that the cameras were watching, and he attempted to harass Italian Prime Minister Meloni, even touching her hair.”

Most comments on the video were mocking, with one commenter saying, “In her grandfather’s position, the intention is pure,” and another stating, “Don’t blow it out of proportion like her father did.”
While some commentators did not consider Biden’s behavior towards the Italian prime minister as harassment, with one writing, “It’s just talk,” another commented, “This harassment you’re imagining is the product of your sick imagination. An old man like him, maybe her grandfather’s age, what interest does he have in harassing her when even his batteries are dead.”

The meeting between Biden and the Italian prime minister took place at the White House.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni emphasized that humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip is of utmost priority and that the two-state solution is the only sustainable solution.
She stressed the need to address the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, explaining that cooperation with international partners is underway to achieve the two-state solution.
Meloni also highlighted the need to curb illegal migration and human trafficking, calling for a campaign against human trafficking and confronting its risks.
