Gaza Burns: UNICEF Warns of “Horrific” Massacres as Thousands of Children Killed by Israeli Strikes
As Israel’s war on Gaza continues, UNICEF confirms thousands of children have died—many burned alive in so-called "safe zones"—while the world remains largely silent.

Watan-Gaza is witnessing one of the most horrific massacres of the modern era, as the Israeli occupation army continues to mercilessly target children in a genocide being carried out in full view of the world. In its latest reports, UNICEF revealed shocking figures confirming the deaths of thousands of children in tragic conditions—some burned alive inside displacement tents that were supposed to be safe havens.
UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell sounded the alarm, stating: “What’s happening in Gaza is overwhelming. The world should be shaken by the images of children burning.” Despite these declarations, the international community remains silent, while some Arab regimes are complicit through normalization, indifference, or even coordination, in what activists have described as a “betrayal of epic proportions.”

Gaza’s Children Burn While the World Watches
Since the resumption of Israel’s assault after the breakdown of the truce, more than 600 children have been killed and over 1,600 injured. Human rights sources suggest the real death toll is even higher due to limited access to affected areas. It’s estimated that at least 16,000 children have been killed since the war began—an average of 27 children per day.
The killing is not limited to bombings; lethal weapons are being used that cause full-body burns and severe disfigurement, while rescue teams are often targeted and unable to reach victims. Dozens of harrowing videos circulating on social media show tents and hospitals—where children and their families sought shelter—engulfed in flames.
Meanwhile, Arab and international inaction continues. There are growing accusations against certain Arab governments for either remaining silent or playing an indirect role in the massacres—by blocking humanitarian aid, engaging in security coordination, or signing suspicious normalization deals.
So, how many more children must burn before action is taken? Gaza is burning… and its children are paying the price—alone.
