UAE Accused of Fueling Chaos to Undermine Syria’s Transitional Government
Reports reveal covert Emirati operations targeting Ahmad Al-Sharaa’s leadership through media sabotage and sectarian incitement.
Watan-Media reports and exclusive sources point to suspicious moves by the United Arab Emirates aimed at reigniting chaos inside Syrian territory, specifically to undermine the government of transitional president Ahmad Al-Sharaa.
The plan, described as “malicious,” is being executed through media and field cells directly managed by Abdullah Al Hamed, head of the UAE’s National Media Office, and in direct coordination with Tahnoun bin Zayed, the UAE’s National Security Advisor.
According to the information, the campaign seeks to discredit Syria’s transitional government, which is attempting to lead the country into a new phase after years under the ousted regime of Bashar Al-Assad. The UAE’s efforts rely on stoking sectarian divisions and sowing discord among Syria’s social fabric, using fear-mongering messages spread through media outlets and fake social media accounts.
A key tool in this campaign is the spreading of rumors about the transitional government’s failure to improve living conditions and manipulation of aid and displacement issues. Claims are being promoted that humanitarian support has ceased and that Syrians will be deprived of their basic rights—an apparent attempt to turn the public against the new government, even though it is still in the rebuilding phase after years of destruction and oppression under Assad’s rule.
The campaign also involves fake charities operating under the banner of “humanitarian work,” carrying out incitement agendas aimed at damaging the credibility of Al-Sharaa’s government and painting it as an extension of the former authoritarian regime. According to leaked intelligence reports, the ultimate goal of the UAE’s actions is to prevent Syria from rising again, especially since the success of the transitional experience would pose a direct threat to the Zionist project in the region, which Mohammed bin Zayed is allegedly committed to supporting by all means.
Observers affirm that stability in Syria does not serve Tel Aviv’s interests, which explains the UAE’s overt and covert support for attempts to undermine Al-Sharaa’s government. So, will Damascus withstand this conspiracy? And will the Syrian people succeed in thwarting Abu Dhabi’s plot, as they have done with previous ones?
