Hamas Releases Video of Israeli-American Soldier Idan Alexander Accusing Netanyahu of Abandoning Prisoners

In a new video, Idan Alexander, held captive by Hamas, condemns Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu for neglecting prisoners and obstructing a prisoner exchange deal.

Watan-The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcasted a video on Saturday featuring the Israeli-American captive soldier, Idan Alexander. In the video, Alexander accuses Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of abandoning prisoners in Gaza and obstructing a prisoner exchange deal.

Alexander said, “Everyone lied to me, my people, the Israeli government, the U.S. administration, and the army.”

The Israeli soldier emphasized that time is running out for the prisoners and stated, “We believe we will return home dead, we have no hope.”

He also mentioned that he heard three weeks ago that Hamas was ready to release him, but Israel refused and left him as a prisoner.

Idan Alexander Criticizes Netanyahu in New Video Message

Alexander criticized Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, saying, “Every day I see that Netanyahu controls the state like a dictator.”

He also addressed U.S. President Donald Trump, asking, “Why did you fall victim to Netanyahu’s lies?”

This is the second video message from the Israeli-American prisoner, following a recording released by Al-Qassam on November 30th, in which he said, “I don’t want my fate to be like that of American citizen Hirsch (Goldberg Bullen).”

Hamas had previously announced its agreement to release Alexander, along with the bodies of four other prisoners, in response to a U.S. proposal, after Israel reneged on a ceasefire agreement.

A Hamas delegation has traveled to Cairo for new talks with Egyptian officials about the ceasefire, while Israeli media have reported a new proposal from Tel Aviv.

In response to the video, Idan Alexander’s family stated that while Israel celebrates Jewish Passover, “We remind you that this holiday has no meaning as long as Idan and 58 other prisoners have not returned to their homes.”

The family added, “Idan, our son, is an only child who immigrated to Israel and joined the Golani Brigade to protect Israel and its citizens. He is now a prisoner.”
