Watan-Hundreds of Tunisians demonstrated in the capital Tunis and other cities to demand the criminalization of normalization with the Israeli occupation and the expulsion of the U.S. ambassador.
The protest was organized by the “Joint Coordination for Palestine,” under the banner “Tunisian Day to Criminalize Normalization.” The march began at Bab El Khadhra Square in the capital before turning into a sit-in outside the parliament building in Bardo.
Similar demonstrations took place simultaneously in other Tunisian cities, including Gafsa, Gabès, and Tataouine.

Tunisians Demand Action Against Normalization Amid Ongoing Israeli War Crimes in Gaza
Protesters raised slogans calling for the criminalization of ties with the Israeli occupation, the expulsion of the American ambassador, and the cessation of military and security cooperation with the United States. They also called for a boycott of commercial companies that support the occupation.
These demonstrations come amid continued global outrage over Israeli war crimes in Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has waged a devastating war on the besieged Gaza Strip, resulting in tens of thousands of Palestinian deaths, the destruction of hospitals, schools, and refugee shelters, and mass displacement of over 80% of the population. International human rights organizations have documented numerous violations, including indiscriminate bombings, use of starvation as a weapon of war, and deliberate targeting of civilians.
Tunisians, through this nationwide protest, are reaffirming their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and demanding that their government take firm action against normalization and complicity with those enabling war crimes in Gaza.
