Watan-The Indian police announced on Sunday the arrest of seven individuals in connection with the appearance of posters bearing the slogans “Free Gaza, Free Palestine” on the walls of some shops in the town of Naroli in the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, India.
The police stated that the posters, which appeared several days ago, also included a call for members of a specific community to boycott Israeli goods.
Ramveer Singh, the police station officer at Baniyather, told the Press Trust of India that the police had launched an investigation and identified the seven individuals by reviewing surveillance camera footage. Additional information was also gathered from the shop owners on whose premises the posters had been placed.

Global Scrutiny of Israeli Actions in Gaza Intensifies Amid Arrests in India Over Pro-Palestinian Solidarity
The recent actions in India, where individuals were arrested for expressing solidarity with Gaza through posters, come at a time when the global discourse surrounding Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza is under intense scrutiny. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been engaged in a large-scale offensive in Gaza, which has led to widespread destruction, loss of life, and severe humanitarian crises. According to reports, over 168,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded, the majority of whom are children and women, while more than 11,000 remain missing.
International bodies like the International Criminal Court (ICC) have issued arrest warrants for Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The ICC and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) have also addressed Israel’s actions, with the ICJ affirming that Israel’s continued occupation and military actions in Gaza and the West Bank are illegal under international law. However, Israel’s disregard for these rulings continues, as it maintains a blockade on Gaza, preventing essential humanitarian aid and medical supplies from reaching the Palestinian population.
The international community, while increasingly vocal in condemning Israel’s actions, remains divided, with some nations providing unwavering support to Israel, while others, such as South Africa, have actively pursued legal measures against Israel. The crisis in Gaza has prompted protests and movements around the world, including in India, where calls for boycotting Israeli goods and advocating for Palestinian rights have gained momentum.
Global Outrage Grows Over Israel’s War Crimes in Gaza Amid Ongoing Humanitarian Crisis
The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate as Israel’s military campaign is seen by many as part of a broader strategy of ethnic cleansing, with reports of war crimes, such as the targeting of civilian infrastructure, deliberate killings of non-combatants, and the destruction of medical facilities. This ongoing violence is compounded by Israel’s refusal to allow access to basic supplies for Gaza’s civilian population, exacerbating what the United Nations has described as a humanitarian catastrophe.
Despite international condemnation and legal efforts, Israel’s military actions continue, and the fate of Gaza hangs in the balance. The question remains whether meaningful global pressure will be applied to end these atrocities and hold accountable those responsible for the ongoing war crimes in Gaza.
