Israeli Captive Omri Miran Urges Protest in Video Released by Al-Qassam

Miran Calls for Immediate Prisoner Deal and Condemns Netanyahu's Handling of Captive Crisis.

Watan-Today, Wednesday, the Al-Qassam Brigades—the military wing of Hamas—released a video showing Israeli captive Omri Miran (48), addressing Israeli society and criticizing the government and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the prisoners held in Gaza. He urged a swift prisoner exchange deal, saying, “We must reach a deal quickly, or we’ll return in coffins.”

In the three-minute video, Miran, who was captured by Al-Qassam on October 7, 2023, from the Nir Oz settlement, is seen walking through a tunnel and sitting in a confined space while speaking directly to the camera. He praised demonstrators demanding the captives’ return and called for increased public pressure on Netanyahu’s government to reach a deal that would secure their release.

Captive Omri Miran Urges Protests, Slams Netanyahu Over Gaza Prisoners

Miran said: “To all those who want us to come back—protest. Thank you to the demonstrators. Go protest massively in front of Netanyahu’s house.” He added that Netanyahu supporters “don’t care about us; they’d rather see us dead.” He also urged released captives to speak to the media about the conditions in which the prisoners are being held.

He described the prisoners as living in “constant fear of bombing,” and noted that he spent his birthday alone, without joy, for nearly a year and a half. He described the situation in Gaza as “very difficult.”

This message comes amid ongoing protests in Israel against Netanyahu’s government, as criticism grows over its failure to secure the captives’ release. The fate of many captives remains unknown since the beginning of Israel’s war of annihilation on Gaza on October 7, 2023.
