Watan-In a continuation of the brutal repression practiced by the occupation authorities against Palestinian prisoners, shocking information has emerged about the harsh conditions endured by the heroic detainee Abdullah Barghouti, who has been imprisoned since 2003.
The details came through his daughter, “Tala,” who exposed the dark reality of Barghouti’s life inside the grim prison cells, where he is subjected to severe beatings with metal tools, sticks, and belts on an almost daily basis.
The occupation authorities, who consider Barghouti their “number one enemy,” clear the surrounding cells before leaving him alone with the jailers, who systematically torture him.

Abdullah Barghouti: Resistance Under Torture
The severe injuries he suffers — from major bone fractures to wounds and abscesses without any medical care — have driven his fellow prisoners to attempt disinfecting his wounds with primitive means like dish soap, a scene that reflects the depth of Israeli crimes inside the prisons.
Barghouti’s health condition has dangerously deteriorated; he has lost significant weight and now must sleep sitting up due to the pain, while the occupation authorities continue to keep him in solitary confinement, slowly attempting to kill him away from the world’s eyes.
Despite urgent pleas launched by his family, who hold Jordanian citizenship, the international community continues to meet them with silence.
Abdullah Barghouti is considered one of the leading figures of the Palestinian resistance and played a pivotal role in planning and executing major operations during the Second Intifada, making him a top target for Israeli intelligence. He was arrested in 2003 and sentenced to 67 life terms.
Despite the brutal practices he faces, the prison administration has failed to break his will or silence his voice of resistance, making Barghouti a lasting symbol of resilience and an icon among Palestinian prisoners who endure their suffering with patience and steadfastness.
Fears are mounting that Barghouti may be subjected to a slow assassination behind bars, while calls are growing for an urgent international campaign to save his life and expose the occupation’s criminal practices against prisoners.
