Outrage Erupts Over Saudi Soldier Seen Guarding U.S.-Israeli Aid Center in Rafah

In a stunning scene caught on camera, a Saudi soldier appears in military uniform as part of a U.S. security force in Gaza—fueling accusations of complicity and silent normalization with Israel.

Watan-In an incident that sparked a wave of popular and Arab outrage, media footage captured a Saudi soldier in full military uniform, speaking in a Gulf accent, appearing as part of a U.S.-led security force in the city of Rafah, southern Gaza.

The shocking revelation, reported by the Israeli newspaper Maariv, confirmed that the Saudi soldier was among the personnel securing a food aid distribution center under direct U.S.-Israeli supervision—mere meters away from ongoing massacres claiming the lives of women and children.

This was no minor detail. The presence of this soldier served as a resounding slap to the Arab conscience and marked an unprecedented shift in Saudi Arabia’s role in the Palestinian file. Instead of sending troops to support the resistance, Riyadh has reportedly dispatched soldiers to guard aid boxes in trenches of occupation.

The scene encapsulated the silent normalization under way and reflected Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s engineering of new regional alignments that cater to Washington and Tel Aviv. The Saudi presence in Gaza, under American command, raises urgent questions about Riyadh’s true role and the extent of its involvement in advancing Israel’s vision of “governing Gaza with Arab faces” post-war.

Saudi state media ignored the incident altogether, instead continuing its campaigns to discredit Hamas and label the Al-Aqsa Flood operation as terrorism—while turning a blind eye to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. These same outlets that attack the resistance daily remained silent on the soldier’s presence, which indirectly confirmed Saudi engagement in security operations benefiting the occupation.

The appearance of a Saudi soldier operating under U.S. command cannot be separated from the larger trajectory of normalization, nor from weapons deals and regional influence pacts. But it also exposed the depth of moral collapse among certain Arab regimes regarding Gaza.

This Gulf soldier didn’t raise his weapon to defend Palestinians. He stood in a so-called neutral zone that resembled not neutrality, but quiet betrayal.
