Watan-Perfume is considered an extension of our personality and an essential part of the daily routine for both women and men. The start of the year offers an opportunity to try new fragrances and search for those that have greater longevity on the skin.
What are the fragrances that last longer on the skin?
Experts in perfume composition distinguish between molecules that evaporate quickly due to their lightness and those that evaporate more slowly due to their heaviness. Fragrance formulas usually aim to balance these light and heavy molecules, allowing the perfume to remain on the skin for extended periods.
Among the most long-lasting scents are musk, amber, woody notes, and natural aromatic products known as “Absolu de Parfum.” This term is used in the fragrance industry to describe a highly concentrated perfume extract rich in aromatic compounds.
What is Absolu de Parfum?
Absolutes are classified as natural products (derived from roots, flowers, or wood) and are created through a process called extraction. This process transforms natural biomass into a product known as an absolute, which is used in perfume making. These highly concentrated fragrances combine strength and elegance, maintaining their longevity on the skin. They are often utilized in the heart notes of perfumes, which define the perfume’s character.
Scents That Don’t Last Long
Musk, amber, and woody notes are highly popular in the perfume world for their lasting properties. In contrast, the less enduring scents belong to the citrus family, such as lemon, mandarin, and bergamot. These are very light and evaporate quickly. They are typically used in the “top notes,” which are immediately noticeable upon application but fade within about an hour. These notes add vibrant, refreshing, and lively touches to a fragrance.
The Right Amount of Perfume
Applying 8 to 10 sprays of perfume is excessive and may produce unpleasant results. The ideal amount ranges between 4 and 5 sprays.
To enhance the longevity of a fragrance, it is recommended to apply it on skin that has been moisturized with a bit of body lotion. The fatty layer formed by this moisturizer helps the perfume last longer compared to applying it on dry skin.
