Houthi Leader Issues Stern Warning to Saudi Arabia Amid Escalating Regional Tensions
Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi warns Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman against new alliances, pledging a decisive military response if Yemen faces aggression.
Watan-In a new escalation, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, a member of the political council of the Houthi group, issued stern warnings to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about the consequences of engaging in any new alliance against the Yemeni group.
Al-Houthi emphasized that the group is fully prepared to respond forcefully if Yemen faces any attack, asserting that their advanced military and missile capabilities are capable of striking targets deep within Saudi territory with pinpoint accuracy.
These warnings come at a time of heightened regional tensions, particularly with Donald Trump resuming leadership of the United States. Al-Houthi noted that Riyadh might miscalculate if it chooses to enter new alliances with Washington against the group, stressing that such actions would not go unanswered. He warned of a decisive military response that could, in his words, bring the Saudi economy to its knees.
In recent weeks, U.S. and British airstrikes on Houthi military positions in Sana’a, Amran, Saada, and Hodeidah have intensified, prompting the group to seek Saudi intervention to pressure Washington to de-escalate.
However, Al-Houthi’s statements suggest that Riyadh has not responded as expected and may instead be on a path leading to a direct confrontation with the group.
Amid these tensions, international and diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing war in Yemen have continued. However, the Houthi group has announced its refusal to engage in any negotiations with Riyadh at this time. Instead, the group declared its focus on confronting what it described as the occupation in the Red Sea and the occupied territories, warning against any attempts to violate Yemeni sovereignty.
Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi’s remarks send a clear message to Saudi Arabia that the era of dominance is over and that the Houthis now possess military strength capable of influencing regional dynamics. At the same time, these developments indicate that the likelihood of escalating the war remains high, especially if Riyadh chooses to ignore the Houthi warnings and pursue new escalatory measures.
