Majority of Israelis Believe Netanyahu Should Resign Following October 7 Attack

Survey Reveals 62% Hold Netanyahu Responsible for Security Failures, While Doubts Remain About Gaza Ceasefire Implementation

Watan-A survey showed that 62% of Israelis believe that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should resign due to his responsibility for failing to prevent the October 7, 2023, attack, while only 28% believe that the prisoner exchange agreement and the Gaza ceasefire will be fully implemented.

The Israeli newspaper Maariv reported today, Friday, that 62% think Netanyahu should resign, compared to 29% who opposed this stance, and 19% who did not express an opinion.

The newspaper added that 93% of opposition voters support Netanyahu’s resignation, compared to only 31% of voters from government-affiliated parties.

It is noteworthy, the newspaper highlighted, that 18% of Likud voters (Netanyahu’s party) themselves believe he should step down due to his responsibility for the failure.
