Gaza Is Not for Sale: Resistance Against Trump’s Proposal

Social Media Erupts Over Trump's Statement on Purchasing Gaza and Granting Parts to Other Countries.

Watan-Once again, U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated his commitment to purchasing Gaza. Trump stated, “I am committed to buying and owning Gaza,” and affirmed that he might grant parts of the territory to other Middle Eastern countries for reconstruction.

This statement, made by Trump aboard Air Force One, sparked a wave of reactions in the virtual world, with users questioning him: “From whom does he want to buy Gaza? How much is he willing to pay? And is he even capable of owning it?”

The first response from online users to Trump’s remarks was a famous line of poetry by Ahmed Shawqi, which Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar recited in his last video appearance on Al Jazeera:”For freedom, a crimson door, with every blood-stained hand it is knocked.”

Defiance and Outrage: Gaza Is Not for Sale

Many social media users commented that Trump believes his wealth can buy him nations, but what was not taken by force will not be obtained through politics or money.

Others reacted sarcastically, saying:”You care about Palestinians and protect them from being killed by stealing their land while arming their killers! From whom does he want to buy Gaza? From the thief and occupier of the land?”

Activists called for urgent legal action in international courts against Trump’s remarks, arguing that they violate international resolutions and UN laws.

Bloggers pointed out that those who supported the occupation in destroying Gaza cannot claim to speak about its “reconstruction.” They stressed that anyone who thinks they can own Gaza or grant it to others should recognize that the will of its people is stronger than any such schemes. They added that Gaza, which has withstood numerous wars, will not be an easy prize for the illusions of tyrants.

Analysts believe that “the real and practical response to Trump and his disgusting proposals is to support Gaza’s resilience and its people, and not to leave them vulnerable to Zionist blackmail. Unless Arab and Islamic countries take concrete steps to break the siege on Gaza, all their statements of condemnation and denunciation will remain mere ink on paper, holding no real value. Only a steadfast Gaza can turn Trump’s dreams into an illusion—if its brothers and allies provide it with real and direct support.”

Other bloggers noted that Trump’s remarks reveal a mindset that reduces entire nations to numbers on an agenda, treating Palestinian suffering as nothing more than a business deal. The idea of “buying” Gaza and “distributing” its land as if it were private property reflects a highly superficial understanding of the Palestinian cause, ignoring its deep historical and humanitarian dimensions.

They also highlighted the sacrifices made by the people of Gaza over the years in their resistance against Israel, which is fully backed by the U.S. Despite this support, even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to implement his vision of displacing Gaza’s population to neighboring countries.
