His son, Hatem Al-Huwaini, announced the news of his father’s death, stating that the scholar had suffered a stroke while in Qatar. He was subsequently transferred to a hospital for treatment, but his condition worsened in recent hours, leading to his passing.

Residents of Kafr El-Sheikh now await the family’s announcement regarding the funeral arrangements, as grief spreads among his followers in his hometown.

The funeral of Sheikh Abu Ishaq Al-Huwaini took place on the 17th of Ramadan 1446 AH (2025) in his hometown of Huwin, Riyadh Center, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.

A large crowd of mourners attended, including scholars, Salafi preachers, and prominent figures from the Al-Nour Party, such as Sheikh Abdel Moneim Shehat and Professor Sayed Mostafa Khalifa. Many Islamic scholars and members of the religious community were also present to pay their final respects.

Who Was Abu Ishaq Al-Huwaini?

Hegazy Mohamed Youssef Sherif, better known as Abu Ishaq Al-Huwaini, was born in 1375 AH (1955 AD) in the village of Huwin, which became part of his well-known title.

He was one of the most prominent Salafi scholars in Egypt, dedicated to Islamic preaching through lectures, religious programs on satellite channels, such as “Fadfada” on Al-Nas TV, and his supervision of Al-Rahma TV.

For decades, he was a teacher and mentor, focusing on Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) and creed (Aqeedah).

His Key Contributions and Legacy

Abu Ishaq Al-Huwaini left a significant impact on Islamic education through his sermons, lectures, and religious programs. His major contributions include:
