Al-Qassam Brigades Strike Israeli Forces in Gaza Tunnel Ambush Amid Ongoing War Crimes

Palestinian fighters report killing and injuring Israeli soldiers in a booby-trapped tunnel in eastern Gaza as international concerns grow over alleged Israeli war crimes.

Watan-The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced on Monday that a number of Israeli soldiers were killed or wounded after being lured into a booby-trapped tunnel in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.

In a post on Telegram, Al-Qassam said: “After returning from the front lines, our fighters confirmed that a Zionist engineering unit had been lured to the mouth of a previously booby-trapped tunnel. As soon as the unit arrived at the site, the tunnel entrance was detonated.”

They added that “Israeli soldiers were killed and wounded east of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.”

This incident is part of the ongoing war in Gaza, where Palestinian resistance groups like Hamas are using tunnel warfare and guerrilla tactics in response to the large-scale Israeli ground invasion. Since the beginning of the war in October 2023, Israel has been accused of committing numerous war crimes in Gaza, including:

  • Targeting civilians and residential buildings under the pretext of fighting Hamas.

  • Massacres in refugee camps and designated safe zones.

  • Destruction of hospitals, schools, and UN shelters, violating international humanitarian law.

  • Use of banned weapons or tactics that cause disproportionate harm to civilians.

According to international human rights organizations and UN reports, thousands of civilians, including women and children, have been killed. The collective punishment of Gaza’s population through blockade, starvation tactics, and the destruction of essential infrastructure (like water, electricity, and medical facilities) are widely considered violations of the Geneva Conventions.
