Yemeni Houthis Strike Israeli Nevatim Airbase with Hypersonic Missile

Houthi forces announce successful ballistic missile strike on Nevatim Airbase, vowing continued operations in support of Gaza amid Israeli escalation.

Watan-The Yemeni Houthi group announced on Sunday that it had targeted Israel’s Nevatim Airbase with a hypersonic ballistic missile, claiming the operation “successfully achieved its goal.”

In a televised statement, Yahya Saree, the military spokesman for the Houthis, said:“The missile forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation targeting Nevatim Airbase in the Negev region of southern occupied Palestine with a hypersonic ballistic missile.”

He emphasized that the operation “achieved its objective successfully,” although Israeli authorities did not immediately comment on the Houthi group’s statement.

This marks the second strike on the Israeli airbase within 24 hours. On Saturday morning, the Houthis had already announced the targeting of Nevatim with a hypersonic ballistic missile, named “Palestine 2,” which they also said “reached its target successfully.”

Houthi Forces Vow to Continue Military Operations in Support of Gaza Amid Israeli Genocide

Saree added that the group will continue to develop its military capabilities “to match the evolving stage and break the arrogance of the American enemy.”
He stressed the continuation of military operations “in support of the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza,” affirming that these attacks will not stop “until the aggression against Gaza ends and the siege is lifted.”
On Saturday, the Israeli army stated that its air defense systems had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, claiming the missile was intercepted before it entered Israeli airspace, amid the sound of warning sirens in several areas.
The Houthi group has repeatedly announced military operations using ballistic missiles against Israeli sites and military bases, declaring their support for the Palestinian people and solidarity with Gaza.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with full U.S. support, has been committing a genocide in Gaza, resulting in over 168,000 Palestinian casualties — martyrs and wounded — most of them children and women, with over 11,000 reported missing.
