Watan – In the escalating Middle East tensions, one poignant moment in Gaza stands apart. An online video shows Palestinian resistance members warmly and respectfully interacting with an old Israeli settler after the launch of the Al-Aqsa deluge.
The footage, both touching and surprising, captures the old woman comfortably sharing a moment with a resistance member. They even pause for a photograph before she’s gently escorted to safety. This compassionate gesture offers a stark contrast to the often-seen aggression, particularly towards Palestinian women and children, by Israeli forces.

Deif announces the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa deluge
Earlier in the day, Mohammad Deif, the esteemed leader of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military faction, had declared the launch of the Al-Aqsa deluge Operation. In a bold, unexpected move, Palestinian fighters skillfully infiltrated multiple Israeli military bases and seven settlements encircling the Gaza Strip.
Beyond this heartwarming interaction with the settler, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced their control over the Erez crossing after launching a series of rocket attacks and incursions into nearby settlements. This decisive action magnetically drew hundreds of Palestinians to the Erez crossing. There, intense skirmishes erupted, casting thick plumes of smoke skyward.
The occupation bombs Gaza
In retaliation, Israeli forces swiftly initiated a series of airstrikes blanketing the Gaza Strip, dubbing their aggressive counter-operation “Iron Swords.” As the dust settles, officials remain silent on the precise casualty figures.
