Watan-A Palestinian father bids farewell to his child, who became a martyr, with strong and patient words after his house was targeted by the Israeli occupation’s shelling in Gaza.
“Our children are the redemption of Palestine”… with these steadfast and powerful words, a Palestinian man bid farewell to his martyred child, carrying him in his arms, as a result of the ongoing Israeli occupation’s shelling in its 34th consecutive day of war on the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian activists captured a video that was shared on social media platforms, showing a Palestinian man carrying his child who became a martyr due to the Israeli occupation’s shelling during its continuous war on the Gaza Strip. He says,
The situation of the Palestinian man, who said goodbye to his son after he became a martyr in the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza, resembles that of many families who bid farewell to their sons and wives with words expressing resilience and defiance in the face of the brutality and massacres committed by the Israeli occupation against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli occupation committed dozens of massacres against civilians, including children, women, and elderly, during its ongoing war on the Gaza Strip. These acts are aimed at exerting pressure on them and on the decision-makers in Palestinian resistance to force them into a state of surrender and despair. This occurs in the context of Arab indifference and international silence regarding the events unfolding in Gaza.
One of the first massacres committed by the Israeli occupation since the beginning of its war on the Gaza Strip on October 7th was the Al-Muhaddithin Hospital massacre in the center of Gaza City. It targeted displaced individuals who sought refuge in the hospital after being displaced from their homes. The massacre resulted in the death of more than 500 Palestinian martyrs.
Dozens of other massacres targeted civilians in the refugee camps of Palestinian refugees who were displaced during the Palestinian Nakba in 1948 to the Gaza Strip. Examples include the massacres in Jabalia, Al-Bureij, Al-Maghazi, Al-Nuseirat, Al-Shati, and others.
More than 10,000 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom were non-combatants, have been martyred during the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip. Additionally, 24,000 or more citizens have been injured with various wounds, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health up to this moment.
